Objective of the role
To ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability in our software products through expert-level API and UI testing, leveraging advance automation frameworks and tools.
What will your role as a QA Engineer look like?
As a QA Engineer you will bring your expertise in designing and executing automation test frameworks for both UI and backend testing with a particular focus on web applications built in JavaScript and REST APIs in Go, Java, and Node, using modern tools and scalable strategies.
You will craft and run automation scripts focused on Java API testing, ensuring every facet of the backend services is meticulously verified. Your role is instrumental in building test automation frameworks that are sophisticated, reusable, and scale with our growth.
You’ll collaborate closely with developers and other QA engineers, continuously improving our test automation tooling and CI/CD workflows. You will maintain a rigorous approach to quality assurance that contributes toward delivering exceptional user experiences and driving customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain automated test frameworks for UI and backend
- Develop and execute robust integration and performance tests for web applications
- Build internal tools that integrate into our CI/CD pipeline to automate quality checks
- Collaborate with developers to embed testing throughout the delivery cycle
- Participate in live technical discussions and code reviews during development
- Identify system weaknesses, bottlenecks, and edge cases through proactive testing
- Mentor and guide QA team members, setting benchmarks and identifying areas for enhancement in our backend testing techniques
- Conduct research and stay up-to-date with the latest automation testing tools, frameworks, and best practices, particularly in the context of Cypress
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- Proficiency in writing and executing automated tests using Cypress, Playwright, or other JavaScript tools
- Solid understanding of JavaScript to develop and maintain test scripts
- Ability to read and test UI systems built in JavaScript with Vue or React
- Experience with automated API testing using tools like Postman, RestAssured, Karate, or custom frameworks
- Ability to read and test backend systems built in at least one of: Java, Go, or Node
- Strong working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
- Experience with performance testing (preferably with k6, or other tools like JMeter, Gatling, Artillery, or Locust)
- Track record of building or maintaining scalable and reusable test frameworks
- Experience of working in Agile teams and contributing to technical discussions
- Familiarity with code versioning, collaboration tools, and test lifecycle management
- Experience testing applications with authentication flows (OAuth2, JWT, etc.)
- Interest in mentoring and knowledge-sharing within QA or engineering teams
- Experience with visual regression testing
